DOOR TO GLORY
(John 10:9)
God’s pleasure in the land of Yellowstone
Reveals itself in this great eastern gate,
Shoshone Canyon, where bright waters hone
Their sparkling path to still more splendid state.
Here forty miles of finely sculptured stone
Stir wonder in the canyon’s puzzled guest:
What greater place makes this one little known?
What awesome land lies waiting in the west?
I’ve heard, and I believe, there is a place
More high, more beautiful than Yellowstone;
Its gate, the Valley of Incarnate Grace,
Astounds the men who travel toward its throne:
Eye has not seen the things God keeps in store—
But great must be the House that has this Door!
